Why Political Parties want immunity from RTI?

Yesterday while watching one of the news channels, NDTV. A debate on their programme Left Right & Centre, kept me thinking all night where do these political parties lead our Nation to?

The programme had a debate on whether political parties should be covered under the RTI or not? I was really taken aback from the response that political parties gave in regards to the above. The reason they gave were very flimsy and unthinkable even from the layman's point of view. What’s wrong if they are covered under RTI Act? The people of this nation have a right to know, what these political parties do at the back hand. We vote for them isn't it?

The kind of political funds they receive, the kind of thinking that goes into choosing a candidate on grounds, which affect nation’s image, and don’t you think we all have a right to know? It’s a serious question which needs to able answers.

To my knowledge not all parties ever list the donations they have received on the public domain, why is it so?

During the whole debate, only one person who caught on my mind was Mr. Anil Bairwal of ADR India who is the National Coordinator. He had repeatedly approached various political parties to provide information to RTI applicants. In their defense all political parties collectively claimed that they are not public entities defined under the transparency law and hence are not required to set up infrastructure for processing the applications under it or replying to such queries.

Following the refusal, Anil Bairwal filed the complaint against political parties before the Central Information Commission. In yesterday's meeting with the political parties, the bench of CIC has reserved their verdict on political funding.

My request to all of you is to aware yourself through this article and the following links for your reference and introspect, why these political parties do not want to come under the RTI Act.

Political Parties oppose RTI

Major political parties yesterday opposed the move to come under the ambit of of the Right to Information Act saying that facilities and subsidised buildings given for their offices do not constitute funding from the government.

A Full Bench of the CIC comprising Chief Information Commissioner Satyananda Mishra and information commissioners Annapurna Dixit and M L Sharma was convened to decide on whether political parties come under the RTI Act or not.

According to the RTI Act, a non-governmental body is declared a public authority if it is substantially financed, directly or indirectly by funds provided by the appropriate government. Such public authorities are answerable to public queries raised under the transparency law.

During the hearing, all major national parties like BJP, BSP, CPI-M and NCP except Congress were present while CPI had already represented their case during the last hearing.

Speaking for NCP, its counsel Amit Anand Tiwari said that according to the RTI Act, public interest is not a criteria to declare a body public authority.

He also said if the details of the donors and such details are put in public domain, other parties may threaten them and thus bring down the entire electoral process.

BSP represented by lawyer Shail Dwivedi claimed that there was not "direct or indirect funding" by the government and the facilities like free air time, buildings at cheap rents and other facilities do not constitute funding.

Similar arguments were put forth by CPI-M Politburo member Ramachandran Pillai who said 40 per cent of its funds come from its cadre which is slightly over 10 lakh across the country as membership of annual Rs two annually while rest come from 'levy' and donations and it was practically impossible to give such details.

An Idiot Indian

Why Do we Vote ? Is it for Time Pass ? or Is it in our Habit ? or Do we Vote because its another holiday declared sometimes by the respective governments (State or Centre).

Or we vote every Five years to remind us that we are returning a favour of being an Indian. Or we vote because we get free liquor, Quilt, Saree, Mobile or even the money, or we as a community vote to get favours later.

And if at all, we vote expecting a change, or for the development of our country, then there is no greater Idiot than us, We the people of India, who has been voting for last 65 yrs.

In the last 10 to 15 years or may be more, in a hope for better government, how your Life has changed ? or how the corruption has been tackled ? How many promises were fulfilled as per party manifestos ?

Have you ever tried to count on those? have you even, or ever thought about this? I wonder what's your answer?

Year after Year, the politicians have whipped us with their misdeeds, and most of us just watch the flogging like a mute spectator. If we didn't wake up by these coming elections, then we all have no right to crib about the happenings in the country, its much better that we remain indoors sitting nicely on our couch potato and wonder how we can be corrupt too.

Remember it’s not mandatory or a custom to vote for a particular party, it’s not even a family tradition to vote for a particular party but casting a vote is entirely our own personal matter on which our future is dependent.

If it’s not party then it’s Religion, if it’s not religion then its Caste, till how long we so called educated brilliant minds can endorse such nonsense? By standing on the streets / locality / parks or your home, commenting and abusing the system or the government is easy but before doing that hurl one or two comments or abuse at yourself too, because we are directly responsible for the mess that we see around in the present political system. We ourselves are corrupt. No .. No .. don't shy away, we are corrupt or otherwise they (the politicians) would not be corrupt too.

These politicians have understood one thing very easily and that is … We the people of India are very tolerant, they are divided on the religion and cast lines and above all they are very thick skinned and their memories are very short and faded. The politician knows our pulse like any good doctor, and they prescribe us a right treatment, and we deserve that treatment that they are meeting us out to.

We are to be blamed for this agony that we are personally going through and put the Nation to it also. So, when next time you go out for voting, keep the above in mind and vote for the issues that you really feel for and not which are the favorite of front benchers. Press the voting button only if you see the following:

1) Provide Safe Drinking Water and Sanitation

2) Provide for basic Health amenities

3) Provide for quality Education for the children of the country

4) Provide basic social security to the family members, the people of the
    Country

5) Lets us Live with Pride and Honor in the country

6) Truly make us feel Proud to be an Indian

7) Provide all round development of Infrastructural facilities

8) Provide Employment opportunities to the lowest level

9) Provide for better agricultural revolution like white revolution (Amul)

Once this is kept in mind, then nothing can affect us on the lines of whether its Religion / Caste or a Party.

This “An Idiot Indian” will be talking and writing about issues related to common man regularly on different forums, which he feels from the bottom of his heart.

If you like this Idiot’s rumblings then keep reading or you have the RIGHT to discard me like any of your votes of the past, not on the streets but in a dustbin.

Like any of You

We all might get arrested - Lets Do It

Yes, Its time ...

We all, the crusaders of Corruption in India and writing for various Blogs, Forums, Posts on FB, Tweets on your handle can lead to our arrests by the Government under Section 66 (1) (hacking with computer system) of the Information Technology Act.

Its an draconian act, which challenges our basic right - The Right to Freedom of Speech.

It's often said that when we talk about our rights we should always remember our duties too. Point Taken, but who shall put the bell on the CAT? The cat has turned to herds of power hungry wolves and have shaken up the very roots of democracy. I mean just come to think of it the lust with which they are robbing the exchequer - A nation called India.

If we, as common man of India is not going to make them aware of their misdeeds then who shall?

Politicians like Rajendra Prasad, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, Dr Ambedkar, M.K. Gandhi (I am specifically referring to him as M.K. Gandhi because our very govt doesn't recognize him as Mahatma any more) Maulana Azad are not going to come out of their graves and haunt them in their sleeps for their (current politicians ) misdeeds? Will They?

So its time we all gather courage and stand against this draconian act - Section 66 (1) (hacking with computer system) of the Information Technology Act.

Sometime back in July, Jadavpur University professor Ambikesh Mahapatra who was arrested for circulating emails mocking Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, was also booked under section 66A of the Information Technology Act which penalizes "sending false and offensive messages through communication services".

Infact Aseem Trivedi of IAC too was booked under under IPC Section 124 (sedition), section 66 A of Information Technology Act and section 2 of Prevention of Insults to Nation Honour Act.

The recent case is of S Ravi, an industrialist who was arrested in the wee hours of Tuesday (5 am) on charges of posting "offensive remarks" against Union finance minister P Chidambaram's son Karti Chidambaram on microblogging site Twitter.

S Ravi, 46, who runs a packaging unit at Sederapet Industrial Estate in Puducherry, in a tweet on October 19 alleged that Karti had "amassed" more wealth than Robert Vadra, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law.

In another tweet on the same day, he said "as a Tamilian" he felt "bad to have sent P Chidambaram to national politics". Ravi has been actively participating in events organized by the India Against Corruption (IAC) in Puducherry.

Puducherry police said Karti lodged a complaint and Ravi was booked under Section 66 (1) (hacking with computer system) of the Information Technology Act. The section can be used against a person who, with the intent to causing wrongful loss or damage to the public or any person, destroys or deletes or alters any information residing in a computer resource or diminishes its value or utility or affects it injuriously by any means.

Police called Ravi for questioning on Tuesday morning and arrested him subsequently. He was produced before chief judicial magistrate Venkatakrishnan, who granted him bail. If convicted, Ravi faces imprisonment up to three years or a fine up to Rs 2 lakh or both.

Pondy CAN (Citizen Action Network) president Probir Banerjee termed the police action as undemocratic. Pondy CAN is one of the several forums that organize IAC activities in the Union territory. "The police action is completely unacceptable. Are we living in a goonda raj? Of late anyone talking about the nexus between the political class and corporates is targeted," Banerjee said.

Former Madras high court judge David Annoussamy pointed out that several people who tweet would have to be arrested if the same yardstick was applied to all cases. "It is common for people to file a defamation suit against those making offensive remarks. The arrest will be made based on the outcome of the defamation suit," he said.

Threat Call to Mr Ashok Khemka ... again

Senior Haryana IAS officer Ashok Khemka, who is in the midst of a raging controversy after alleging irregularities in land deals involving businessman Robert Vadra, has received yet another threat call. The call, made to Mr Khemka's office, was received by a woman employee.

"The call was extremely obscene, vulgar and intimidating to my family members...the telephone attendant was shaken up...I forwarded call details to the police and filed a complaint," Mr Khemka told NDTV.

Arvind Kejriwal Dares Sonia !!

India Against Corruption (IAC) leader Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday dared Congress president Sonia Gandhi and general secretary Rahul Gandhi to take action against external affairs minister Salman Khurshid and his wife Louise for corruption in the Zakir Hussain Memorial Trust. Run by Khurshid, the Trust under scanner following allegations that money meant to distribute contraptions and aid to the disabled was pocketed by the politicians.
Addressing a huge Crowd in Farrukhabad, Khurshid's parliamentary constituency, Kejriwal said that when IAC exposed Khurshid, Sonia and Rahul remained silent. Similarly, when IAC exposed corruption of Sonia's son-in-law Robert Vadra, Khurshid accused IAC of indulging in false propaganda against Congress's first family for cheap publicity.

Allegations by India Against Corruption against Reliance Industries Limited: Full Text

Arvind Kejriwal today exhumed the Nira Radia tapes to expose what he claimed was the hold of corporations over the government, specifically naming Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) owner Mukesh Ambani, who he said was "running the country".

Here is the full statement by India Against Corruption against Reliance Industries Limited:

In 2006, Mani Shankar Iyer was removed and Murli Deora brought in to increase RIL capex from $ 2.39 billion to $ 8.8 billion and to increase gas price from $2.34 per mmBTU to $ 4.2 per mmBTU.

Corporate - Politician Nexus - Times Now - Part 1

After taking on Congress President Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law and businessman Robert Vadra and BJP President Nitin Gadkari, India Against Corruption (IAC) member Arvind Kejriwal trained his guns on the corporate-politician nexus. Kejriwal brought Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani in its line of fire alleging that the UPA and the previous NDA governments had favoured his company by giving contract on gas exploration in the KG Basin and concessions at a huge cost to the exchequer. Meanwhile, Reliance has rejected charges, saying allegations by IAC were at the "behest of vested interests".

In a debate moderated by TIMES NOW's Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami, panelists -- Aryama Sundaram, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court; Hartosh Singh Bal, Political Editor, Open Magazine; Nalin Kohli, Leader, BJP; Shazia Ilmi, Member, IAC; Prof Anand Kumar, Member, IAC; TSR Subramaniam, Former Cabinet Secretary and Arati Jerath, Senior Journalist discuss whether the both the national parties are defensive on the specific allegations made by IAC.

The highlight of the debate was the fact that IAC is now being seen as a serious political entity, which was noted by Hartosh Singh Bal, Political Editor - Open Magazine and Times Now's Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami.

Arvind Kejriwal, Prashant Bhushan exposé hits Mukesh Ambani - Indian Express

Arvind Kejriwal, Prashant Bhushan exposé hits Mukesh Ambani - Indian Express

See how their PDS Stinks ?

We all are aware of the state of the poor in the country. It's disgusting to know that the very poor is being distributed rotten wheat, which then is supplied to Flour Mills for making Wheat Flour (Atta), to be distributed under the Public Distribution System (PDS).

The recent case id from Jaipur, Rajasthan, which was first brought into notice by a local daily newspaper Rajasthan Patrika on 30th October 2012 - Jaipur Edition

55,000 sacks of wheat are lying at a railway godown in Jaipur. Wheat that arrived yesterday in Jaipur was purchased from Punjab but remains dumped there because of lack of storage space in Food Corporation of India (FCI) godowns. Based on media reports, Rajasthan governor Margaret Alva has asked for a report. Officials say, the wheat - 2500 MT, has now started emanating a bad smell and they have received complaints about the same from people in the vicinity too.

FCI staff are now doing a quality check and will differentiate the good grains from the ones gone bad. They say unfit wheat will be discarded.

However, there is a fear that the grain which is unfit for human consumption could actually be sold or given to poor families.

India, is the world's second-biggest rice and wheat producer, but is continuously grappling with storage problems due to bumper harvests in recent years.

Team Kejriwal's third expose today ?

After targeting businessman and Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra and BJP president Nitin Gadkari, Team Kejriwal threatens to make its third expose today.

Activist-turned-politician Arvind Kejriwal tweeted this morning, "Watch Out for today's expose. It cud be pretty big."

Mr Kejriwal launched a political party earlier this month, a spin-off from the civil society group, India Against Corruption. He first focused on the alleged corruption of businessman Robert Vadra, the son-in-law of Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

In the last few days, Mr Kejriwal and his supporters - members of the India Against Corruption - have shared documents that highlight allegedly illicit deals struck by politicians to favour their own businesses or those linked to their families. Mr Kejriwal and his as-yet-unnamed party have also levelled corruption charges against Law Minister Salman Khurshid and BJP president Nitin Gadkari.

Mr Kejriwal has accused Mr Gadkari of thoroughly compromising his obligation as a Leader of the Opposition and colluding with the ruling Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in Maharashtra for furthering his business interests at the cost of farmers.

Mr Gadkari, who recently got an unprecedented second term as BJP president, has denied any ties with the NCP and its top leaders and says this is an effort to politically malign him. He said all his efforts have actually been focused on helping beleaguered farmers in Vidarbha. The BJP is in Opposition in Maharashtra, where the NCP is in an alliance government with the Congress.

With Love to Digvijay Singh

Stand alone comedian and satirist Nitin Gupta has written a letter to Mr. Digvijay Singh in reply to the 27 Questions Mr. Singh had asked from Arvind Kejriwal.

Must Read

Subject: Regarding your 27 questions to Arvind Kejriwal.

Dear Sir,

I love you, and I believe we have something in common. Our love for the first family! Especially for Indira Ji, I adore her so much that I was even born in an 'EMERGENCY' WARD! It’s almost a cosmic connection with the first family :)

Now that I have your acceptance, I just want to say that Sir, I am a huge fan of yours. I also feel very lonely. Sometimes I wonder if both things are inter-connected ?

Sir you are a beacon of loyalty in this selfish world. You are so loyal, sometimes I wonder if you deserved a birth in some other specie. At least in that specie your loyalty would have been rewarded with a few hugs and kisses and some love. Unlike today where your masters distance themselves from your statements at will. Sometimes I feel personally hurt at the way you are treated.

Oct 18th High court orders a CBI inquiry against you. Next day you had to indulge in PDA (Public display of affection or Italian Kiss as it’s called) by calling Kejriwal Hitler and sending him a questionnaire  It’s a shame that not even a single cabinet minister came to your defense that day. Sir, seeing the way you are treated by your party makes me feel that Indian democracy is a delusion. I mean if Icons like you have to try so hard to hard to be heard, what about people like us ? Ants and Gutter-snipes ?

But seeing your composure, my respect for you grew manifold. You are so humble. I mean you have been one of the longest serving CM’s of the biggest state in the country and you still take orders from a Waitress! No wonder for a person who is so down to earth, a freelancer like Kejriwal comes across as a ‘self-serving megalomaniac’. Great that he couldn't make it to the NAC headed by Madam G. Because let’s face it, How can one committee have two self-serving Megalomaniacs with a streak of Hitler!!!!

But this love letter is not about you, it's about the 27 questions you sent to Arvind Kejriwal.

Sir when I read your 27 CBSE level questions to a person who cleared JEE in pre coaching era, it gave me goose-bumps! Especially the one where you raised doubts about foreign funding of Kejriwal's NGO, where you asked.

"Did he use the funds of about Rs 2 crores that his NGO Parivartan got from Ford Foundation for the Anti corruption movement? What is the logical support the Anti Corruption movement got from US based NGO Avaaz that has been funding civil disobedience movement in Libya, Tunisia, Egypt and Syria ?

FUNDS FROM FORD FOUNDATION

Let's say he did. Consider funds from Ford foundation as FDI! And going by your govt’s stand on FDI in every sector starting from Retail, to aviation to insurance, Shouldn't Kejriwal be hailed as a reformer for bringing FDI in movement against corruption?

But you are clearly hinting like your other colleagues that it's a Foreign Conspiracy to destabilize the country!

Arvind Kejriwal and 2 crore rupees worth of Foreign Grants! It’s indeed worrisome. More worrisome than having a cabinet minister who has ‘alleged’ links with Dawood Ibrahim and a Madam who has ‘alleged’ links with KGB. And they will remain alleged forever for alleged reasons. Because how can the people who make laws be ever found on the wrong side of the law ? Sir, I know you are a purist but please be gentle to Kejriwal. He had to take grants from Ford foundation, because DLF did not agree to give him an unsecured loan. Nor did he got any coal blocks for free. Nor did he have people like Telgi to print stamp paper like some of the people in your cabinet. So he was forced to take grants from foundations of ‘third-rate’ citizens like Henry Ford!

But since you are so apprehensive about money coming from abroad. I would urge you to do a money trail on Participatory Notes (PT’s).

Which our Finance Minister bulldozed despite massive resistance from senior people of SEBI and RBI! Not to mention, the ones who opposed met the same fate as Jaipal Reddy today. Even Manmohan Singh was worried about Participatory Notes in his IMF paper. Kindly do a money trail on some of those Participatory Notes. I hope it will take you to some familiar holiday destinations

CONNECTIONS WITH NGO AVAAZ.

But I agree with you that Kejriwal’s connections with US NGO Avaaz that was engaged in the civil disobedience movements in the Arab World raise some very serious questions, ironically not for Kejriwal, but for the GOI!

Okay let’s assume if what you are hinting is true, that Kejriwal is a US backed agent to catalyze the fall of Indian Govt. using the Anti corruption movement as a crutch! But the question is why would US indulge in something like that.

1. US DOESN'T NEED TO DO THAT

Because, Historically the regimes that US has toppled successfully/unsuccessfully are the ones which were not agreeing to the US backed Neo Liberal policies of privatizing key resources of the country. IMF-World Bank or the Washington Consensus as it’s called.. US did it in a CIA backed military coup in Chile, where they assassinated their elected president Salvador Allende on Sep 11, 1971 to install their puppet Pinochet. Or the recent failed coup attempt against Hugo Chavez in 2001, the Iconic leader of Venezuela (the largest oil producing country in the world).

Or US-backed coup d'état overturned the regime in Iran to bring back foreign oil firms by installing the Shah back in 1950’s.

But then again, that’s in nations where US is not able to have it’s way.

As far as India is concerned, MMS has recently opened retail sector toing the US line. Nuclear Liability bill is a Joke. So why would US wants to topple a govt. which is doing everything Uncle Sam wants ?

2. PARALLELS WITH TUNISIA, SYRIA, LIBYA AND EGYPT

Also comparisons to Arab Spring are wrong. Because the Arab Spring was a reaction to massive civil unrest, thanks to the repressive and corrupt dictatorial regimes spanning over decades. When those dictators could no longer be supported, because either the army or the business class turned their back on them, US pulled the plug. That has been a standard operating procedure. USE AND THROW! Be it the Shah in Iran, Marcos in Philippines, Duvalier in Haiti, Mobuto in Congo and Suharto in Indonesia! When those people become a liability, discredit them using the Media and have them removed to reboot the system under the same cliches of Installing democracy and restoring peace and human rights, like it was done in recent war in Iraq and Egypt and Libya and will be done in Syria and Iran post the US Presidential Elections.

But, if you insist on drawing parallels between those countries and India. Are you admitting that like in these countries there is a massive civil unrest because of incredibly corrupt and repressive regime in India too? Are you willing to admit, that like these countries India is also a dictatorial regime that is controlled by the United States. Are you prepared to put Madam G and Gaddafi, Assad and Mubarak on the same Pedestal ? And if the present regime were to be toppled, would you thank the US for spreading democracy in India. In any case Sir, I hope you know why you didn’t get answers to your questions. Because the onus of answering them lies on to you! Furthermore, if you are so scared of US backstabbing, why don’t you ask your Foreign Minister Mr. Salman Khurshid to ask Obama to take actions against the above mentioned NGO’s. May be Obama will be kind enough to order an investigation on both Aavaz and Khurshid’s NGO!

3. IF ONLY REGIME CHANGES WERE THAT CHEAP.

If you still think US is behind all this, then how incredibly naïve of the US, to pull of a regime change in a country of one billion with only 2 crores rupees! If that were possible, Regime change in Iraq won’t have costed 3 trillion dollars. It would have been just over in a few lakhs rupees! Further, If US was behind all this, rest assured Anna’s movement won’t have been peaceful. Coup’s across History involve turning the population of the region against the establishment by choreographed violence by CIA. And then using the Media to blame the regime for the same! And finally when the leader refuses to resign, they would arm rebels, use the military or worse send NATO as the last resort. If you could pull off coups with a handful of NGO’s! America’s Military spending would have been less than the GDP of Sudan!

I AGREE KEJRIWAL IS ANTI NATIONAL

Finally Sir, it’s an old trick. Painting someone who doesn’t tow your line as Anti National, colluding with foreign Interests.

I agree Kejriwal is Anti National, because it’s hard to be National in today’s times. To be National you need to destroy a National Airline like Praful Patel, Jeopardize National Security, like it was done in 2G by giving licenses to blacklisted companies like Etisalat, and by Jeopardizing National Energy Security like in the Coal Scam.

Also since when did GOI started caring about the National? If that was the case BT cotton seeds won't have been allowed in rain fed areas of Vidarbha leading to so many farmer suicides.

Seems like the only thing 'National' that the GOI cares about is the 'Multinational'

And the only Nation we live in is the Corporation!

LANGUAGE JIHAD

Also when you compare Kejriwal to Hitler, it’s just changing names in the age formula that govt’s use. Accuse the innocent person who exposes you of the same crime you stand guilty of! It's so rampant and so obvious, it's impossible not to see it.

Like Julian Assange was declared a 'terrorist' for exposing the Human Right violations of the United States in Iraq.

Like Iran is now officially declared a ‘Nuclear Threat’ to Israel and US.

Like CAG was accused of exceeding it’s mandate for exposing how legislature is taking the country for a ride.

People who fight against the land grab and burning villages and women being raped in Chhattisgarh are charged with SEDITION!

US toppling Elected Govt's in CIA backed Coup's are called exercise in 'Establishing Democracy'

And Kejriwal who has given voice to millions against the self-preserving megalomaniac leader of an Anarchist govt. is being accused of the very symptom he is fighting!

It's an old trick. It's called Language Jihad.

I hope your concerns about Kejriwal hurting National Stability are doused now.

A few disagreements apart, Once again Sir, let me admit, you are truly unbelievable. Because it’s hard to believe anything you say! And by the way, Since you appear so concerned, May be India’s biggest INTERNAL security threat is the Indian Paramilitary in the heartland of the Nation trying to clear the land for mining rich corporations under the pretext of fighting Naxalites!!

Warm Regards

Nitin Gupta.

An Hour With Kejriwal on Google Hangouts

How stupid BJP can sound ?

BJP's vendetta against Mr Arvind Kejriwal raises some serious questions about the intelligent brains they have working for the "Kamal Sandesh"

The editor sounds politically and mentally challenged. The accusations sounds so silly that whether someone should laugh or cry about is unclear. Only one thing which matters is that it's high time all these parties should be taught a befitting lesson whether its Congress, BJP, SP, BSP they all are same. Thick skinned!!!

Some Pointers :

According to them

Q) After ruining the Anna Andolan and in pursuit of its naked ambition Team
Kejriwal is indulging in the conspiracy to create suspicion about
‘democracy’ and by doing so it is definitely playing in the hands of those
who have no attachment either to India or Bharat Mata.

A) It means that people - the Aam Aadmi is Foolish and Stupid, who cannot
distinguish who is right and who is wrong? There is something like
Introspection Mr. Editor, kindly list out your (BJP) misdeeds, Bangaru
Lakshman, Yeddyurappa and Gadkari are your classic examples, what do
you have to say about them, what about your attachment to India or Bharat
    Mata.

Q) The Manmohan Singh government should find out as to who has given the
      ‘supari’ to Kejriwal.

A) Are you so naive Mr. Editor, that Manmohan Singh Government would be
sitting SO quietly, when Mr Arvind Kejriwal has been attacking the
Government itself. I should also freshen up your rusted memory, that all
team members of IAC are open to any enquiry by any agency, and this is
on record. Besides the above there's an Internal Lokpal of IAC, constituting
retired Judges of the courts to investigate charges of any corruption
levelled against any member of IAC. Do you or your party has the same
guts to do so ?  We all have a doubt.

Q) It is often said that a person should become respectable by doing good
things in the society but here some people are nursing the ambition to
earn respect by highlighting the shortcomings of others.

A) If the shortcomings of others is costing this Nation, not Hundreds, not
thousands but Lakh of crores in the form of corruption, then the citizens of
this nation are not eunuchs like you, we shall all rise and see your fall.

Q) When he blackened the face of ‘Vadra’ he thought that the Congress may
blame him of his being played in the hands of BJP. This was the reason
that he distorted the things which BJP National President Shri Nitin Gadkari
     keeps saying in his speeches.

Whatever Kejriwal said about Nitinji was immediately dismissed by Union
Minister Shri Sharad Pawar who said that “Nitin Gadkari has done nothing
wrong”. It was a big slap on the face of Kejriwal.

A) You have with your statements made the nexus of Cong - BJP quite
evident, though its a open secret that you both are hand in glove to ruin
this nation and loot your Bharat Mata to the fullest. I have no doubt that
why Sharad Pawar shall not support Gadkari? Everyone knows, even He's
corrupt too. Chor Chor Mausere Bhai. Does any one of them has the
spine to come out in public truthfully and confess to their or others
misdeeds. Who would like to see their empire fall out flat ? It took us 400
years to drive out the Imperial Power, not them.

Q) He (Arvind Kejriwal) is engaged in digging holes in democracy with the
help of foreign funds. Kejriwal has perhaps forgotten that democracy is
deeply entrenched in the soul and body of the nation. Therefore Arvind
Kejriwal will not succeed in misleading the mature people of our country by
     leveling baseless allegations.

A) You guys (All Political Parties) are already engaged in digging holes in
democracy not with the foreign funds but from the money which in fact
belongs to the citizen of this Nation called India. Who has given you the
right to dig holes in democracy. In fact you and the entire political class of
corrupt politicians have been misleading the Nation and its vulnerable
people, but this time none of you will be spared. Have trust in the people
of this nation, they all shall teach you a befitting lesson of political morality.

Q) Who is Kejriwal? Don't the people know that he is the same person who
     has ditched Anna?

A) Oh well you are very well informed Mr. Editor. How do you know what
transpired between them? Why can't you read in between the lines?
It is very clear that Anna Hazare shall fight you people in the form of
Andolan and Arvind Kejriwal and his team shall fight opposite you in
your own playing arena. That's Democracy as I see it.

BJP - Politically Frustrated Vendetta against Arvind Kejriwal

In my previous post, I had pointed out how political parties have no moral ground to hold, the article published in "Kamal Sandesh" levelling charges against Mr Arvind Kejriwal clearly shows the frustration they are going through, a clear case of political vendetta to malign him ...

Here is the complete Editorial by its editor Prabhat Jha, who is an MP too.

"Your comments shall truly help the cause that we all are fighting for."

The Editorial

After ruining the Anna Andolan and in pursuit of its naked ambition Team Kejriwal is indulging in the conspiracy to create suspicion about ‘democracy’ and by doing so it is definitely playing in the hands of those who have no attachment either to India or Bharat Mata. The Union Government should seriously investigate the matter.

The main game of Kejriwal may be related to funding. The thing to be known is whether the funds belong to India or to the forces which want to weaken the country. The Manmohan Singh government should find out as to who has given the ‘supari’ to Kejriwal.

Kejriwal may not be aware of the fact that the day he declared his intention to join politics and contest elections his sensex not only crashed down but it has completely nose dived. The situation is gradually becoming clearer. I still remember that Anna had once said that the former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh Digvijay Singh should be sent to Pune. Now we want to know where Anna would like Kejriwal to be sent.

It is often said that a person should become respectable by doing good things in the society but here some people are nursing the ambition to earn respect by highlighting the shortcomings of others. Kejriwal is doing exactly the same thing these days. When he blackened the face of ‘Vadra’ he thought that the Congress may blame him of his being played in the hands of BJP. This was the reason that he distorted the things which BJP National President Shri Nitin Gadkari keeps saying in his speeches.

From here started the journey of Kejriwal’s neutrality. The day Shri Gadkari assumed the office of BJP National President he always talked about his work which he carried through cooperative movement and the need to strengthen rural economy through alternative sources of energy. What was new in Kejriwal’s revelations? Whatever Kejriwal said about Nitinji was immediately dismissed by Union Minister Shri Sharad Pawar who said that “Nitin Gadkari has done nothing wrong”. It was a big slap on the face of Kejriwal. At the same time by demanding an inquiry on himself Nitinji exposed the unethical and conspiratorial design of Kejriwal.

When Sharad Pawar uttered truth, his daughter Supriya Sule was brought in the dock. It was made clear that Kejriwal who was trying to act as Raja Harishchandra and about whom we were continuously saying was thoroughly exposed.  Kejriwal proved himself to be completely false. One who could not remain loyal to Anna, how can he be loyal to the nation? He is engaged in digging holes in democracy with the help of foreign funds. Kejriwal has perhaps forgotten that democracy is deeply entrenched in the soul and body of the nation. Therefore Arvind Kejriwal will not succeed in misleading the mature people of our country by leveling baseless allegations.

Who is Kejriwal? Don’t the people know that he is the same person who has ditched Anna? By ditching Anna who nurtured him Kejriwal has definitely reserved his name in the list of back stabbers. Does a back stabber enjoy the moral right to accuse others?

Arvind Kejriwal wants people to vent their anger on him so that if he is chased and beaten somewhere the people of India can emotionally sympathize with him. He is waiting for that. But he is not aware of the fact that many like him were seen earlier by the people of India and its mature democracy has never responded in that manner.

It is the country of Gandhi (not Sonia Gandhi) where Bapu merely in a loincloth converted the desire to send the Britishers out of the country into people’s power and the Britishers had to leave the country. By sitting on the heap of accusations and conspiracies the swadeshi struggle cannot be waged with the help of foreign funds. It was only due to the media channels which by believing in these ‘fly by night operators’ wasted so many valuable hours of these channels and got misled. But no one should doubt the maturity of the people of the country who can distinguish between reality and conspiracy, truth and falsehood, revolution and ‘revelations’, agitation and propaganda and so on. The entire plot was exposed, it was nothing but falsehood. It was a damp squib.

It is a matter of relief that the people responsible for wasting valuable time and human resource of the country have been exposed. How far it has benefited the Indian democracy and politics only the time will tell but it is for sure that the for saving the dignity of the Indian democracy it is good that Kejriwal has been exposed.

Same Old Story - Our Politicians

The Betrayal of a Nation - 2

In my previous post I had talked about the state of the mind of politicians and why India is taking a beating ? In this post I shall touch upon the aspects of our politicians mindset.

If you see the pattern in the last two to three decades, yes its that long. No political party is interested to talk about the gravity of all problems, i.e. the degradation of political values in simple terms POLITICAL MORALITY.

Instead of owning up the act of his misuse of the chair by resigning and then facing the inquiry, the guy is more interested that let the inquiry take place, I have done nothing wrong. These politicians think we are stupid, Mango People of Banana Republic, probably they are right, but we the people of India are not.

We all know their tactics behind this, lets follow some: -

1) Buy time so that records can be manipulated especially when you are in
    power.

2) How swift these high profile cases moves in the court, we all know.
Examples of very high swift moving cases Bihar - Fodder Scam involving
Lalu Yadav, Disproportionate Case against Mayawati.

3) Most of the cases against political adversaries are kept open purposely
because they can be arm twisted for support or for forging alliances to get
votes. RJD, SP, BSP, all are classic examples.

4) Back stage deals / propositions etc are managed for the benefit of each
    other.

Few classic examples of the games that gets played by politicians.

The denial of any accusation or misdeed is carried in such a vehement manner, that it puts an layman to shame, who knows its a complete case of white lie by the politician, but still nothing else matters to the power hungry herd of wolves.

The best part is that how these guys are able to muster up the defense in their support. Inside their heart each and every member belonging to any political outfit knows that, their colleague is tainted but yet they can't go against his misdemeanour. Why? because issuance of political whip is an open secret.

How come one's inner consciousness allows them to do so, when he knows deep down inside one corner of his heart that his political friend is not on the right path. But I believe somewhere or the other the political ambitions overpowers the pure consciousness within him. It's a pity how one can become the victim of political impotency.

There is no moral ground left for these guys, the intoxication of power is such, that even a well learned person is blinded with the idea that "With Power of polity anything and everything can be achieved".

BJP President Nitin Gadkari's case is the sheer example of intoxication of power. The best part lies when you deny all charges levelled against you with such a conviction, that it makes the "aam aadmi" laugh at you, but behind such denial of charges lies the utmost self blinded belief on our Judicial System. "The SYSTEM that we question to, isn't the Judiciary also part of the same SYSTEM".

Gadkari knows that very well that once an enquiry sets in, there shall be no end to it, It's like a black hole, you never know when and where its going to end. I have already given examples of the classic cases where either they get extensions, or the Govt lawyer is not present or sometime the CBI is not fully prepared with it's case, the list of lingering the case and its reasons are long.

Tainted politician like Suresh Kalmadi accused in the CWG 2010, and Raja accused in the 2G scandal get's a cabinet post as members of Parliamentary standing committee. To add to the vowes the UPA remove honest minister like Jaipal Reddy as Oil Minister and another Handicapped Scamster, Minister for Law, Salman Khurshid is made the Minister for External Affairs. That's the hypocrisy of UPA, what a shame.

The whole SYSTEM looks stupid or the SYSTEM thinks that The People of India are otherwise.

The least you can talk about is CBI. For any country secret services or investigative agencies are the major nerve center for the smooth functioning of the ideal governance of a party, but here in India it is ensured that CBI works for the ruling party. Sometimes you really pity for those upright officers who work for the agency. There is a moment when the CBI is just about to file the chargesheet, and the very next moment the whole scene changes and there comes a directive from the higher-ups to go SLOW.

In between these few moments a perfect script is written in-lieu of " I scratch your back, you scratch mine" philosophy. There you go, a political indemnity for 5 years or more. No Judiciary with its massive Judicial Powers on Earth can bring culprits to book, as everything rests on the investigative agency which (Acts like a Puppet) by the hands of a puppeteer.

That's the Great Indian Political Drama ...

Are you not BORED ?????

Why India needs Arvind Kejriwal

Those who call Arvind Kejriwal an anarchist miss the point. Anarchists aim to destroy democracy . They break the law. They subvert institutions . Kejriwal does none of these. We may disagree with some of his methods — i do — but not with his intent. And it is important to separate method from intent.

The intent is clearly right: expose the corrupt , improve governance, unmask collusive politics, and undermine the nexus between businessmen and politicians. All these objectives are noble and necessary. India has for too long been a democracy of, by, and for the few rather than the many. This culture of privilege has corroded governance and created two nations: those who have it all and those who have very little.

In the middle of these two extremes is the small but growing aspirational middle class which forms the core support group of Kejriwal’s constituency. It is not large enough to give him many seats in Parliament or even the Delhi assembly once he launches his political party on November 26. But it will give him enough clout to be a disruptive influence.

Disruption can be constructive or destructive. Kejriwal’s modus operandi has two principal flaws. One, he exposes alleged corruption scams but does not follow them through to their logical conclusion. He says others (media, public interest litigants, opposition parties) should complete the job. That’s not good enough. If you start something, finish it. If you can’t , don’t start it. No one else, for example, is going to nail the allegations against Robert Vadra, Salman Khurshid and Nitin Gadkari. Public memory is short, public attention shorter. These issues will eventually wither away in India’s collusive ecosystem.

Two, Kejriwal often gets carried away by his own rhetoric. Calling Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit names does not enhance his credibility. Bitter medicine is necessary to cure a diseased political system but the dose must be delivered in the right measure or it could prove counter-productive . The system, for all its rottenness, has a huge capability to fight back and discredit its detractors. It is easy for it to play victim.

Anna Hazare, Kejriwal’s mentor, says little but in a few words conveys a great deal. His advice to Kejriwal: don’t be in a hurry. Anna has successfully fought political corruption in Maharashtra for over 30 years. He forced the resignations of six state cabinet ministers across party lines — Congress, NCP and Shiv Sena . It was Anna’s decade-long stir from the early 1990s that led to the Maharashtra RTI Act being legislated in 2003. The Congress and other parties fought the Act tooth and nail till they were finally forced to adopt it.

The central RTI Act, 2005, which Congress president Sonia Gandhi never tires of taking credit for, was initially also fiercely opposed by the Congress. Civil society activists, emboldened by Anna’s success in getting the Maharashtra RTI Act legislated, eventually succeeded in pressuring the UPA-1 government to pass the central RTI Act in 2005, modelled largely on the Maharashtra Act.

But “not being in a hurry” , as Anna advised, does not imply inertia . India is a young country, an impatient country. Kejriwal recognizes this. He is right in saying that the government has tried to undermine many institutions of governance: the Election Commission (EC), the Central Vigilance Commission and the Public Accounts Committee. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) remains under government control despite a 2006 Supreme Court order on police autonomy which should apply to the CBI as well. As a result, the CBI is far too often used as a political weapon rather than a professional investigative agency.

To take his political movement forward, Kejriwal needs to infuse clarity into specific issues. He started his activist career campaigning for the RTI Act and deservedly won the Magsaysay award for it in 2006. He then transferred his attention to the Jan Lokpal Bill but has now largely abandoned it in the face of collusive political opposition.

As a politician, Kejriwal needs to articulate a clearer vision than he and his team have done so far. Their manifesto must contain incisive ideas on economic reforms, counter-terrorism , foreign policy, the environment, defence, energy and agriculture. It must also state the team’s agenda on reforming our institutions, including giving the CBI autonomy and the EC statutory powers to conduct a monthly public audit of political party funding and expenditure.

If Kejriwal wants to play a serious, long-term role in India’s evolving democracy, he must shift from the politics of agitation to the politics of reform.
